I love talking about my passion for weddings and helping my clients. I was fortunate to work with a couple, who were married this August 2021. Their original wedding date was in December of 2020 and they had to postpone it due to the Covid pandemic.

For their 2021 wedding they chose Dallas because it was a center location for their parents, family, and friends who live in Austin and Wichita Falls. The couple reached out to me for my professional help and the first thing I did was help them choose their venue. They chose the Westin Downtown Dallas hotel for both the ceremony and the reception because the hotel staff is wonderfully accommodating, the views from the floor to ceiling window ballroom are gorgeous and reflect off the elegant crystal chandeliers in the ballroom. The ceremony room with the ceiling round chandelier also was an ideal setting for the “in the round” ceremony.

The wedding weekend started off with a Welcome Dinner at the Crescent Club for out-of-town guests. Then their Rehearsal dinner, which was held at Gilley’s Dallas offered that true relaxed Texas feel.

The couple, both doctors, live in Oklahoma and were very involved in all the details of their wedding. The décor and atmosphere were particularly important to the couple. Their vision for the wedding was “Wow, Glamorous, Modern Elegance”. The colors were blue, grey and white and the tone was set with the soft modern dusty blues look of their invitations.

After we met with the floral designer, the couple’s vision was translated into “Organic elegance with a modern twist, Floral statements for WOW moments, Unique textures for a naturally inspired design.” To complement this description the couple with the direction of the talented florist, chose Hydrangea, roses, spray roses, ranunculus, stock, thistle, veronica, tweedia, air plants mixed foliage to include sage green, eucalyptus, and dusty miller.

In the Jewish tradition, the custom of signing of the Ketubah typically happens right before the actual ceremony. The bride did not want the groom to see her in her wedding gown for the Ketubah signing, so they decided to have the Ketubah signing earlier in the day and the bride wore a different white lace dress for this pre-ceremony event. Then she changed into her wedding gown from Stardust Celebrations with pearl and sequined shoes for the ceremony and reception, which was a very elegant combination.

The wedding ceremony seating, including the Chuppah were in the round, so guests had a complete visual of the couple. After the ceremony, the floral accenting the Chuppah was moved to the reception and utilized on the gorgeous mirrored stage facade.

Guests were able to enjoy a cocktail hour complete with hors d’oeuvres, petite cupcakes from Bird Bakery and also enjoy the Dallas String Quartet play pop music. They also had time to “write their Prescription for a happy marriage” on custom prescription pads, compliments of the ‘doctors’.

The elegant linens varied per table with soft blue velvet banquets that surrounded the pure white dancefloor, which was also captured in a ‘Live Painting’ by Renata Sharman, who painted a keepsake portrait of the bride and grooms first dance.
One of the fun things about the Ice House Band is their tradition of bringing the wedding party up on stage to sing during the reception, which is always enjoyed by the attending guests.

The wedding cake was a beautiful display cake created by Panini Bakery and adorned with flowers by Branching Out Floral and Events. Guests enjoyed the actual delicious cake served from the kitchen. The couple had one real piece of cake incorporated in the beautiful display.

To complete the evening the couple offered custom chocolate favors. This was truly a unique and beautiful event that was crafted by a talented group of vendors, who I value and trust.
